Berlin, 06. July 2007 – Large international MC network meeting in Berlin with Former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl as Guest of Honour
Five years ago MEDIA CONSULTA (MC) became the first and still only German agency to found an international agency network to operate in all member countries of the European Union and the most important economic centres worldwide. At the annual MC network meeting in Berlin on 5-6 July 2007, representatives from 44 MC network agencies (27 from all member countries of the European Union) came together to celebrate the fifth anniversary. A European Gala Dinner with former Chancellor Dr. Helmut Kohl as guest of honour crowned the event.
In founding the network in 2002, the German market leader in the fields of corporate communications, youth marketing and institutional communications took early action in response to increasing globalisation. ”European campaigns are increasingly desired by the European branded industry, international institutions, organisations and the media,“ MC CEO Harald Zulauf explains. “As the sole German managed international network so far we are best positioned to implement global PR and advertising campaigns.“
Thanks to MC’s international profile and far-ranging experiences in planning and implementing integrated communication campaigns gathered since 2002, the agency has developed into one of the leading and fastest growing communication firms in Europe. Among the agency network’s clients are political institutions such as the European Commission, the Federal German Government, several state governments (Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia, among others) as well as international brands such as Generali, Lidl, Visa and Vodafone.

Through the networking meeting on the 5th and 6th of July, MC offered an opportunity for its clients from globally active companies and institutions to meet annually in one place with the general manager and key account directors for all MC agencies, including discussions of international campaigns and how they are to be adapted on the national level. “We think and plan globally, act locally and in the process profit together,” MC CEO Harald Zulauf emphasises. The two-day agency summit in Berlin served as a venue for discussions on impacts, working practices and communication strategies for pan-European and international informational companies in all MC network countries, and how to harmonise them with one another. The meeting’s agenda included topics like future development of networks, continued expansion abroad, the MC Academy (a pan-European MC employee qualifications program) and perceptions of corporate responsibility for the network. Through its support for the UNICEF and Nelson Mandela Foundation project “Schools for Africa"–starting this year MC will assume responsibility for the funding of a school in Africa–MC demonstrated by deed its views of the importance of an expanded commitment to issues of societal importance.

Festive greeting for all guests from politics and economics at the Orangerie of Charlottenburg Castle. The schedule for July 5 also included an invitation by MC CEO Harald Zulauf for agency heads and clients from business, politics and the media to join him for a European Gala Dinner in the Große Orangerie of Berlin’s Charlottenburg Palace. A round table discussion on the topic “50 Years of European Union: History, Presence and Future” featuring former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl and Dr. Günther Nonnenmacher, the co-publisher of the Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung, capped off the evening’s events.
