MEDIA CONSULTA prevails as the largest German agency network
Berlin, 29 February 2008 – MEDIA CONSULTA (MC), lead agency of the German Government, enters its 15th year of operation with record turnover registered in 2007. In Germany alone, the integrated communication agency produced a turnover of 52.1 Mio. Euro (2006: 38.2 Mio. Euro) – an increase of 35 percent year on year. With that, MC is the ‚top 3’ among the biggest German advertising agencies. (Source: Horizont and W&V, 06 March 2008).
Worldwide, the MC network with agencies in 44 countries, including all 27 EU member states, likewise saw double-digit growth: with a turnover of 303.4 Mio Euro or an increase of 40+ percent over 2006. With these figures, MC prevails the biggest German agency network. The greatest leaps forward were achieved by MC’s subsidiary agencies in Russia (100 percent increase) and the United Kingdom (plus 50 percent).
Turnover growth was coupled with company growth in terms of its human resources complement. In Germany alone, MC created 60 additional positions in Berlin and Cologne, the majority of which joined MC Advertising. Founded two years ago, MC Advertising has rapidly grown into an 88-strong team. At the end of 2007 MC employed 263 people in Germany (196 in 2006).
Worldwide, MC now numbers 1,667 employees (2006: 1,222). „At our 15th anniversary party this Autumn, we will toast to our continuous growth“, says MC-CEO Harald Zulauf. „This uninterrupted wave of success is the result of our creativity, and of the results-oriented and professional worldwide agency network, of which our customers are the primary beneficiaries. “
As lead agency of the German government, MEDIA CONSULTA implemented the communications campaigns for both the German Presidency of the EU Council and for the G8-summit.
2007 has been an exceptional year for MC, reflected in newly won or reconfirmed client accounts. The classic advertising sector has seen particular growth with clients such as Generali, Dunlop, LIDL and Vodafone. As worldwide lead agency of Air Malta and the Malta Tourism Authority, MC has developed advertising campaigns that have generated measurable success in numerous European markets. Also in 2007, MC won the biggest political communication account ever tendered by the EU. The EU Directorate General Communication account sees MC carrying out a Europe-wide integrated information and communication campaign for the next four years with a budget of 80 Mio. Euros. As lead agency of the German Government, MC also implemented the communications campaign for the German Presidency of the EU Council.
MC is one of the top 15 worldwide network agencies and the only agency network represented in all 27 EU states.
